Welcome to the Bear (a nickname that stuck from my college years) Facts blog. This site addresses spiritual and cultural issues from a distinctively Christian perspective. I am a Christ follower, professor, administrator, and minister. I served as Vice President for Campus Ministries at North Greenville University, a South Carolina Baptist institution in Tigerville, SC, from 1991-2019. In June of 2019, I became the Senior Campus Pastor, Chief Spiritual Formation Officer, and Professor of Spiritual Formation and Ministry. In addition, I continue to serve on the Executive Leadership Team. Prior to joining the NGU team, I served churches in North Carolina and South Carolina as minister of music and youth. I am enthusiastic about helping prepare the next generation of believers and ministers to serve Christ with passion, faithfulness, and obedience. Spiritual formation is central to our campus ministry strategy as we train transformational leaders for church and society. I enjoy playing guitar, leading worship (especially with my family), preaching, teaching, reading, walking with my great danes, spending time with my family, Star Trek, and UNC basketball.
